It is reported that the new regulation for the foreign exchange will be enacted from this July 14. The chinese government has isssuing the stricter and stricter regulatuion to protect the sensitive and huge foreign exchange due to the hot money flooding into chinese finacial market recently. The effect and validation of this regulation are under observation, however, the export-oriented economy and enterprises in southeastern of china would suffer a lot during this period. the exchange rate is another the sword of Damocles for them.

Asiamold 2008, the Chinese international trade fair for mould making and tooling, design, and application development, is coming to Guangzhou (Canton) in Guangdong Province this September. China has far outrun an earlier reputation as a low-cost production option for the toy industry. Increasingly, it is strengthening its position in the mould making and tooling industry. In historical terms, the country has established itself as a profitable place to do business within a remarkably short period of time. Numerous Western companies have opened production facilities there in recent years, as have leading auto manufacturers headquartered in the ¡°Asian Tiger¡± nations and more than 100 automotive suppliers.
Guangdong saw an increase of 14.5% in its gross domestic product (GDP) in 2007¡ªabove the Chinese average and, needlessly to say, far above current Western capabilities. Some 33% of China¡¯s exports originate from factories in this southern region. This performance is a strong factor in the decision to site Asiamold in Guangzhou.
Furthering Guangdong¡¯s claim to economic prominence within China is the fact that the province is a huge importer of machines and plants required for increased development.
Asiamold 2007 was a great success. Taking a cue from the economic growth in Guangdong, the Asiamold 2008 organizers have planned a larger Asiamold this year, with more ways to learn about and gain access to the Chinese market. The 9th China (Guanghou) Internatioanl Machine Tool Exhibition (GIMT) is coming to Guangzhou (Canton) in Guangdong Province this June. The exhibition date is from June 16 to June 19. This exhibitions will gather more than 500 international and national manufaturers and distributors together with pavilions from Singapore, Germany, France, Italy, Taiwan, PR of China etc.

Advanced Short-Hole Drill Designed to Work Fast at Low Cost
Sandvik Coromant has extended the range of its perfectly balanced CoroDrill 880 indexable insert drill (CD880) to allow the efficient drilling of smaller- and larger- diameter holes. The short hole drill is now available in sizes from 01 to 09, for producing holes 12.00-13.99 to 53.00-63.00 mm in diameter. In comprarative advanced drilling tests, the CD880 exhibited 60% higher productivity than a solid- carbide drill.
The drill delivers a high penetration rate at a low machining cost per hole. It is reported that China Minmetals Non-ferrous Metals CO., LTD (CMNMC) affiliated China Minmetals Corpration acquired HAWERA Pr?zisionswerkzeuge GmbH?(HP Tec) in May 6. The friendly takeover will help CMNMC to consumate the tungsten industry chain and raise market share, which is for the further growth of the comapny. The investment is under commercail secret according to the terms of the bi-lateral contract.
HPTec founded in 1977, which is the largest manufaturer in the line of Micro Drills and Milling Inserts and have 40% market share in Europe. HP Tec also have plant in Kunshan, China.

Seminar:
Seminar on CVD
It is reported that the seminar on CVD (Chemical Vapour Deposition) was organiaed by Hongkong Productivity Council (HPC) in April 9. The purpose of this seminar was to introduce the technology principle, working environment and industrial application, and exhibited the last equipments for surface treating technology for presentees.
The chief consultant of HPC Dr. Gao Songnian said the enterprises should introduce the new technology in order to cooperate the clean production. The Thin Film Technology is a feasibile method, which will help enterprises upgrade or transformation when plating film and surface treating.
The Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD) Technology is widely used aboard, however Dr. Gao said the CVD has been employed widely in production field, even the thin film coating material and nanometer technology.
